The Black Star Tour w/ Avril - 2011

The Black Star Tour - Clips from 4 continents where the Black Star tour went. No Australia :( - but still pretty awesome. All Jim, so enjoy to the max.

The Black Star Tour - South America  - Avril goofing with the band on stage. And they (seasoned, professional  musicians) can't do anything about it. Or can they?

The Black Star Tour - South America  - Push, Jim parts of course, from three shows including the ones where he is singing the lead.

Nilson, Brasilia - Aug 4, 2011 Parts with Jim from I love You, Nobody's Home and Push with awesome sound and picture quality.

Nilson, Brasilia - Aug 4, 2011 - Alice. We left the entire song, blurry parts, wandering camera and hands in the way, as the sound is awesome and it's an amazing performance with awesome sound. Hat off to Avril for singing live that well. Oh, Jim is there on piano of course!

Chevrolet Hall, Belo Horizonte - Aug 2, 2011 - Pieces of Hot, Smile and Complicated with Jim, all in one clip, nice and steady, with decent sound. Jim's voice recovered enough to be able to sing the high notes in Complicated, which he wasn't able to do during the previous concert in Rio.

Chevrolet Hall, Belo Horizonte - Aug 2, 2011 - Some fun Jim moments from the show: parts of Skater, Girlfriend and He Wasn't.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - "When You're Gone", the entire song. The sound grates the ears a little especially in the middle, but still cool, steady video with Jim on piano and in shot all the time.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - "When You're Gone", the entire song again, this time with better sound. Notice that Jim is not singing, as his voice was totally busted.  But nice to see him at the piano.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - Two versions of "I Love You" - the second part of the song and Jim and Avril centre stage. Very cool and relaxed.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - Jim's lead parts on Push and Smile, shot from the screen. His voice was "trashed" (his words!), he had to literally shut up for 24 hours before the show (gasp!) - and, he was able to sing them. See (or better, hear) for yourself.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - Medley of "Everybody Hurts" (with the little Jim voice solo at the beginning); then "Nobody's Home" and last but not least, "He Wasn't" with Avril and her two guitarists rocking out.

Citibank Hall, Rio De Janeiro - July 31, 2011 - Another medley shot from the screen. Parts of "Everybody Hurts", "Fix You" and  "I Love You". "Fix You" sounds awesome, to us it's more about the band than Avril.

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - The entire Smile, professionally shot (well almost!), including the extended band introduction. It's such an up and fun performance, we didn't have the heart to edit it. Jim's solo is from 5:00.

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - The band interlude. We don't think we can find a video clip with better picture/sound than that. Enjoy.

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - Push. Also professionally shot (thank you @punkmatic!) Not the whole performance, just the parts with Jim. What's interesting: something is definitely not right at the beginning and Avril turns to Jim for help. At least that's how it looks like; as she stays close to him throughout the performance.

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - A short clip of the end of of Push. Very nice!

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - A composite video of a very sweet moment at the end of the show, Jim with the Brazilian flag.

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 28, 2011 - Intro to Alice and Jim centrestage on piano. Nice clear and steady. The band is shown as well. Fabulous stuff, doesn't get better than that (mac format). By the way here is the performance of Alice (Jim appears in and out from the right).

Credicard, Sao Paulo - July 27, 2011 - Jim and Avril goofing during Jim's solo on Smile. It's so cool we put it in triplicate! Different angles of course!

Malvinas Argentina, Buenos Aires - July 24, 2011 - Push - and a couple of preciuos moments beetween Avril and her musical director.   It's a bit choppy, but worth seeing. (mac format)

Malvinas Argentina, Buenos Aires - July 24, 2011 - Keep Holding On - nice, clear and steady video, albeit very little Jim. But you can hear him. Very nice performance.

Movistar, Santiago - July 22, 2011 Medley of four songs, one from each of Avril's four albums: Complicated (Let Go); Freak Out (Under My Skin), Girlfriend (The Best Damn Thing) and Push (Goodbye Lulaby).

Movistar, Santiago - July 22, 2011 - Push and Smile, the best parts. You know what they are! (mac format)

Movistar, Santiago - July 22, 2011 - The band interlude. The band is killing it.  A bit shaky but the sound is very good, definitely worth your while. Love the Fekete close up at the end.

La Explanada, Lima - July 20, 2011 - Nobody's Home. Avril hadn't performed this song in years. The Best Damn Band - never. You can see Jim, the Musical Director, throught out the clip, reassuring Avril and conducting the band. Awesome stuff.

La Explanada, Lima - July 20, 2011 - The band interlude. The video is a bit shaky, but Jim manages to stay in shot all the time.

La Explanada, Lima - July 20, 2011 - The good ole Girlfriend, awesome song to play live, and the crowd loves it. Too bad it's shaky, but the picture is clear. Jim frowning around 0:40, does he like what he's hearing?

La Explanada, Lima - July 20, 2011 - "What The Hell" - Jim (and Avril) - all the time. Lots of energy and fun they are having.  Crisp clear and steady. Very nice.

Terraza CCCT, Caracas - July 18, 2011 - Part of "What The Hell" with Jim in shot all the time as well as Jim's solo part of Smile (can't really see him but you can hear him!)

Rays Summer Concert Series, St. Petersburg, FL - May 28, 2011 - Jim conducting the crowd during acapella "What The Hell". Good singing. Well, for a sport crowd.

Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas  - May 27, 2011 - Two versions of Skater with Girlfriend in between. It's blurry and shaky, but the atmosphere is explosive. Worth your look.

Nangang Exhibition Hall, Taipei - May 13, 2011 - Some good soul recorded the entire band interlude from the screen. It's freaking awesome.

Nangang Exhibition Hall, Taipei - May 13, 2011 - Parts of  Push, Complicated and Smile with Jim. Shot from the screen but still very decent. Great sound too. Jim's vocal solo on Complicated (from 1:08 on) is impressive.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - Medley of Jim parts in half a dozen songs,

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - Composite video of parts of "Smile" and "Complicated" (Avril's last and first single!) We wonder what is Jim saying to Avril at the beginning (um... "My mic is dead!") We love how the crowd goes wild on Jim's vocal solo on Smile. Pretty cool stuff.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - The "Freak Out" part of the band interlude, Jim and Steve Fekete. Thanks Marylin (wristband on avrilbandaids).

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - The "Losing Grip" part of the band interlude. Just Jim. Thanks Marylin (wristband on avrilbandaids).

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - Avril and Jim goofing off during "Smile". The audience loves Jim's part. Thanks Marylin (wristband on avrilbandaids).

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - A composite video from the Singapore show: pieces of "I Always Get...", "Wish You Were Here" and "I'm with you" - the Jim parts of course.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - One of the best ballads ever (well for us):  "I'm With You". You can see Jim in the first couple of minutes, but we left the whole performance. The crowd singing is really amazing.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - Another composite video: Jim parts from the performance of "He Wasn't" and "I love You". Check a funny moment around 0:33; as well as Jim and Avril playing up from  1:18. Cool stuff.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - Composite video of parts of "Girlfriend", "What The Hell" and "Skater". All upbeat songs, full of energy. Some cool footage there (check around 2:20) despite the smoke mashine working on 11.

SIS, Singapore - May 09, 2011 - "Alice" and the smoke machine in overdrive. You can't see a  damn thing and we think it's hilarious. Especially Avril at 2:21.

HKAWE, Hong Kong - May 07, 2011 - Jim and Fekete during the band interlude. 'Nuff said.

The Black Star Tour, 2011 - Avril and the Band - We already know how much Avril appreciates her band and how prominent the band is during the shows. This video illustrates that. She is awesome.

Shanghai Grand Stage, Shanghai - May 2, 2011 - Interlude ("Freak Out"/Unwanted/"Losing Grip"). Another crap video (the venues are HUGE) - but forget that, the band is a absolutely awesome. Jim and our friend Steve Fekete do a solo together. Can't get better than that.

Shanghai Grand Stage, Shanghai - May 2, 2011 - The band interlude, this time the whole thing and a lot better quality too. As for the content, all we're gonna says is WOW. See for yourself

China Valley Music Festival, Beijing - April 30, 2011  -  Pieces  of "What The Hell" on the first clip and pieces of Sk8er and "Stop Standing There" on the second one. Jim is a blurry shadow in the background, but still not bad, especially "Stop Standing There" - end of second clip - where he is doing some kind of percussion (as far as we can tell).

China Valley Music Festival, Beijing - April 30, 2011  - "Alice". The video is crap, and there are only 2 "blink and you'll miss'im" Jim moments (3:36 and 4:36), but he is 100% there on piano (wow...) and backing vocals (chorus and bridge). Avril is amazing and the band is incredibly tight. What a performance, especially the intro! (Too bad for the occasional sing along of the  guy who recorded  it)
