Cherry Hill guitarist backs Avril Lavigne on current tour

Cherry Hill's Jim McGorman will be all over the tube in the coming week, playing guitar behind singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne.

McGorman, who was last seen on national TV as a member of the band on both seasons of NBC-TV's Rock Star talent-hunt series, will be performing with Lavigne on the following programs: Saturday Night Live (Saturday; NBC) Good Morning America (Tuesday; ABC) The Late Show with David Letterman (Tuesday; CBS) Live with Regis and Kelly! (Wednesday; WPVI-TV, Channel 6) The Ellen Degeneres Show (Thursday; WCAU-TV, Channel 10).

Lavigne is also booked May 15 on NBC's The Tonight Show and May 16 on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC-TV.

McGorman, who has played with such acts as Cher, Poison and Michelle Branch, is also the leader of the band Jamestown, which recently released its debut CD, The World is Falling Down. For more on McGorman and Jamestown, go to
